 HIA Insurance (formerly known as Hammond Insurance Agency, Inc.) was established in Hammond, Indiana in 1931. In May 2001 HIA Insurance moved to its current location, 222 Indianapolis Blvd. Suite 203, Schererville, IN. We are pleased to be celebrating 77 years in business in Northwest Indiana! We appreciate our customers and the opportunity to serve them!

HIA Insurance
HIA is a member of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA), the Independent Insurance Agents of Indiana (IIAI) and the Independent Insurance Agents of the Calumet Area. We are members of the Lake Shore Chamber of Commerce and the Schererville Chamber of Commerce.
Members of our Staff
Larry Meyers is President of HIA Insurance and has been with the agency since 1975. Throughout his career he has been involved in industry and community organizations. He is an active member of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA), the Independent Insurance Agents of Indiana (IIAI) and the Independent Insurance Agents of the Calumet Area and served as President of the IIAI. He is the Vice Chairman of the Calumet College of St. Joseph Board of Trustees and a member of Hammond Rotary. In 1992 Larry was awarded the Harry P. Cooper, Jr. Public Image Award by the Independent Insurance Agents of Indiana (IIAI).
He is a past President of Woodmar Country Club, Hammond Education Foundation and Hammond Rotary.
Bob Stout joined HIA Insurance in 2003 to lead our Life, Health and Investment Department. He comes to HIA with 13 years experience and specializes in rollovers, traditional and Roth IRA’s, fixed and variable annuities, mutual funds, individual and group life and health insurance, disability insurance, and long term care insurance. He is certified by the Indiana Partnership Program to provide Long Term Care Insurance. He is an active member of the Schererville Chamber of Commerce.

Janet joined HIA Insurance in 1991 as a client service agent. She came to HIA with 6 years of experience and is a past President of the Insurance Women of the Calumet Area and The Independent Insurance Agents of the Calumet Area
Mary Jo joined HIA Insurance in 1992 as a client service agent. She came to HIA with 22 years of experience.
Nancy joined HIA Insurance in 1979.
Carol joined HIA Insurance in 2000 as a client service agent. She came to HIA with 19 years of experience.
Lisa joined HIA Insurance in 1998 as a client service agent. She came to HIA with 4 years of experience.
Jeff joined HIA Insurance in 2006 as an insurance agent and producer. He is a 3rd generation employee of HIA and has completed the Indiana Insurance Commercial Lines New Producer Class.
Dave joined HIA Insurance in 2007 as an insurance agent and producer. He is a 3rd generation employee of HIA.
Beverly A. Messer, CIC Retired - January 2007
Beverly Messer had been with the agency since 1975. She retired from HIA Insurance in January 2007. She continues to be involved in the insurance industry, working with The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research.
